Most QUT access including room access and library borrowing finishes immediately after completing your studies.

Your completion date will be:

Undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) students
the day you graduate or have your degree conferred.
Research students
on submission of your thesis or final project.

Accessing online services for graduates

As a graduate you'll receive access to our range of services for alumni. You can continue using your QUT username and password to access these.

Your username is the letter 'n' plus your student ID, for example n12345678.

If you forget your password you can recover it online.

Email

Student alumni retain their QUT '@connect.qut.edu.au' email accounts for life. Use your QUT username and password to log in.

HDR students

After you've graduated as a research student you'll keep access to your '@hdr.qut.edu.au' email account, but the email address will change to an '@connect.qut.edu.au' format.

File storage

Your access to QUT file storage including OneDrive finishes shortly after you graduate. Make sure you copy any files you need to an external location.

Library

Graduates have free access to a subset of the Library databases.

Graduates can borrow books from the Library, free of charge, with an alumni borrowing card.

QUT app

Keeping the QUT app active on your mobile is a great way to stay across everything that's available to you as a member of our alumni community. You can log in with your QUT username and password.

Download it from the app store for iPhone or from Google Play for Android phones.

Alumni community

Your alumni community includes a network of inspiring, influential individuals sharing in their lifetime connection with QUT and paving the way for the next generation of leaders. Once you graduate, membership to the alumni community is free, automatic and for life.

Visit QUT alumni to:

  • find news, awards, and events
  • access support, professional development, and discounts
  • update your details
  • request academic transcript
  • replace your parchment
  • verify qualifications
  • contact the Alumni Office
  • give to QUT.

Canvas

As a former student you retain some access to Canvas. However, your individual units may be made unavailable by the Unit Coordinator and will be automatically archived after two years.

Printing

On-campus printing access generally finishes when you complete your course.

During the period your QUT ID is valid you can continue using a personal device to print using student printers on campus.

Wi-Fi access

Your access to student Wi-Fi finishes when you complete your course, but you can still access QUT's free public Wi-Fi on campus.
