Key dates for graduating

Browse our list of important dates for upcoming graduation and conferral rounds:

  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 04 June 2025
    Graduation registration begins for all students for mid-year ceremonies.

    Students will receive an invitation and be able to register once course complete.

    Friday 06 June 2025
    Cut off for students to lodge credit (advanced standing) application to be eligible for Mid-Year ceremonies.
    Cut off for students to lodge cross-institutional results to be eligible for Mid-Year ceremonies. If you wish to exit early from your current course. Apply to Graduate Early with an Approved Exit Course (Early exit request).Applications are subject to faculty approval.

    Cut off to apply to exit early from your current course. Apply to Graduate Early with an Approved Exit Course (Early exit request). Applications are subject to faculty approval.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 18 June 2025
    HDR candidates must submit their final thesis requirements by this date to be eligible for Mid-Year ceremonies.

    Course requirements cut-off for HDR awards to be included in Mid-Year ceremony round
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 09 July 2025
    Cut off date to clear sanctions (e.g. outstanding fees, library fines and student loans) to be included in Mid-Year ceremonies. Allow 4 working days for financial payments to clear. You will not be able to graduate if you have an active sanction.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Monday 14 July 2025
    Course requirements cut off - You must complete all course requirements by 4pm on this date and your course status set to Complete, to be invited to attend the Mid-Year ceremonies. This does not include HDR candidates. 
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Tuesday 15 July 2025
    Final date to arrange TPA (Third Party Authorisation) collection of your parchment after completion of ceremonies.

    You must submit the TPA form and you must also email askqut@qut.edu.au with the subject ‘Parchment collection’ requesting that your parchment be collected by the third party. 

    Parchment collection is only available the week after the graduation ceremonies from HiQ Gardens Point.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 16 July 2025

    Cut off for TPA forms - Final date to request for your parchment to be collected by yourself or another person. In person collection is from HiQ Kelvin Grove only.

    Email ceremonies@qut.edu.au with your request and include your TPA form if you would like your parchment collected by another person.

    Cut off for students to amend personal details including mailing address, phone and email contacts via HiQ

    Final date to make a change to your name and request for cultural variation to be recorded on your award certificate. To update, check your personal details page for more information. Requests received after this date won’t be reflected on your graduation documents.

    Cut off for graduation ceremony registration. Register for ceremony attendance by midday.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 30 July 2025 to Monday 04 August 2025
    Graduation ceremonies will be held at the Star Brisbane Event Centre.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 30 July 2025
    Digital certified copies of your Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) and digital parchment will be available online through My eQuals within 10 working days after conferral date.

    Note: Progressive mailing out of parchments commences 30 July 2025.

Ceremony schedule

If you complete your course after the cut-off date but are still eligible to graduate, you'll be included in either the March or September conferral round. These are non-ceremony rounds, which means you'll receive your parchment by mail and be invited to attend a future ceremony.

Mid-year ceremonies

Mid-year ceremonies will be held from Wednesday 30 July to Monday 4 August 2025 at the Star Brisbane Event Centre. 

Registration for the mid-year ceremonies will open Wednesday 4 June.

End-of-year ceremonies will be held from Monday 8 December to Wednesday 17 December 2025 (subject to change).

Further details about the ceremony schedule will be available in mid-September, 2025.

All graduation ceremonies will be live streamed for the benefit of family members or friends who are unable to attend the ceremony.

View the live stream

This stream can be viewed from Windows and Mac OS X computers, Apple iOS and Android mobile devices. Streaming video can be data-intensive - be aware of your mobile plan's 3G/4G data limits.

No permanent recording will be kept by or used for any other purpose by the University.
