Key dates for graduating

Browse our list of important dates for upcoming graduation and conferral rounds:

  • Graduation - September conferral

    Wednesday 10 September 2025
    Final date to clear sanctions (e.g. outstanding fees, library fines and student loans) to be included in September conferral. (Allow 4 working days for financial payment to clear)
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Friday 12 September 2025
    Cut off date for students to submit change of name via HiQ account and request for cultural variation via online form
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Friday 12 September 2025
    Final date to amend personal details including mailing address, phone, and email contacts via HiQ account
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Monday 15 September 2025
    You must complete course requirements by this date to be conferred in September.
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Wednesday 17 September 2025
    September conferral is conducted.
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Thursday 18 September 2025
    Progressive mailing out of parchments to students commences. Allow 10 days for mail out.
  • Graduation - September conferral

    Thursday 18 September 2025
    Digital certified copy of Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) will be available online through My eQuals within 10 working days.
  • Graduation - End of Year Ceremonies

    Monday 13 October 2025
    Graduation registration begins for all students.

    Graduation invitations will be progressively emailed to current graduands as they complete.

    Invitations will be sent to already conferred students via the personal email on their student account.

    Cut off date for students to submit Early Exit requests. Apply to Graduate Early with an Approved Exit Course (Early exit request). Applications are subject to faculty approval.

    Monday 03 November 2025
    Doctoral candidates must submit their final thesis requirements by this date to be eligible for December ceremonies.

    Monday 17 November 2025
    HDR students must complete course requirements by this date to be eligible to attend the end of year ceremonies.

    Tuesday 02 December 2025
    Course requirements cut off - You must complete all course requirements by midday (12.00pm) on this date to be eligible to attend the end of year ceremonies.

    Final date to make a change to your name and request for cultural variation to be recorded on your award certificate. To update, check your personal details page for more information. Requests received after this date won’t be reflected on your graduation documents.

    Final date to amend personal details including mailing address, phone and email contacts via HiQ.

    Final date to arrange TPA (Third Party Authorisation) collection of your parchment after completion of ceremonies. You must submit the TPA form, and you must also email askqut@qut.edu.au with the subject ‘Parchment collection’ requesting that your parchment be collected by the third party.  Parchment collection is only available the week after the graduation ceremonies from HiQ Kelvin Grove

Ceremony schedule

If you complete your course after the cut-off date but are still eligible to graduate, you'll be included in either the March or September conferral round. These are non-ceremony rounds, which means you'll receive your parchment by mail and be invited to attend a future ceremony.

End-of-year ceremonies

End-of-year ceremonies will be held from Tuesday 9 December to Wednesday 17 December 2025 at the Star Brisbane Event Centre.

Registration for the end-of-year ceremonies will open on Monday 13 October.

Mid-year ceremonies are typically held in July or August at the Star Brisbane Event Centre. 

Further details about the ceremony dates and schedule will be available in Semester 1, 2026.

All graduation ceremonies will be live streamed for the benefit of family members or friends who are unable to attend the ceremony.

No permanent recording will be kept by or used for any other purpose by the University.
