Key dates for graduating

  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 03 June 2026
    Graduation registration begins for all students. Ceremonies will progressively email invitations to graduands for mid year graduation ceremonies as they become course complete.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Friday 12 June 2026
    Last date to apply if you wish to exit early from your current course, Apply to Graduate Early with an Approved Exit Course (Early exit request). Applications are subject to faculty approval.
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Friday 12 June 2026 to Friday 12 June 2026
    Last day to lodge credit (advanced standing) application to be eligible for Mid-Year ceremonies.

    Closing date for students to lodge cross institutional results to be eligible for mid-year 2026 ceremonies
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 17 June 2026
    Doctoral candidates must submit their final thesis requirements by this date to be eligible for Mid-Year ceremonies.

    Course requirements cut-off for HDR awards to be included in Mid Year ceremony round
  • Graduation - Mid-Year Ceremonies

    Wednesday 08 July 2026
    Final date to clear sanctions (e.g. outstanding fees, library fines and student loans) to be included in Mid-Year ceremonies. Allow 4 working days for financial payments to clear.

    Monday 13 July 2026
    Course requirements cut off, 4pm - students must be complete by this date to be eligible to attend mid-year ceremonies

    Wednesday 15 July 2026
    Final date to arrange TPA (Third Party Authorisation) collection of your parchment after completion of ceremonies.
    You must submit the TPA form, and you must also email askqut@qut.edu.au with the subject ‘Parchment collection’ requesting that your parchment be collected by the third party. Parchment collection is only available the week after the graduation ceremonies from HiQ Kelvin Grove

    Final date to make a change to your name and request for cultural variation to be recorded on your award certificate.
    To update, check your personal details page for more information. Requests received after this date won’t be reflected on your graduation documents.Final date to amend personal details including mailing address, phone and email contacts via HiQ.

    Digital certified copy of Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) will be available online through My eQuals within 5 working days after conferral date.

    Note: Progressive mailing out of parchments commences 29/07/26

    Wednesday 29 July 2026 to Tuesday 04 August 2026
    Graduation ceremonies will be held at the Star Brisbane Event Centre

Ceremony schedule

If you complete your course after the cut-off date but are still eligible to graduate, you'll be included in either the March or September conferral round. These are non-ceremony rounds, which means you'll receive your parchment by mail and be invited to attend a future ceremony.

Mid-year ceremonies

Mid-year ceremonies will be held from Thursday 30 July to Tuesday 4 August 2026 at the Star Brisbane Event Centre. 

Registration for the mid-year ceremonies will open on Wednesday 3 June.

End-of-year ceremonies

End-of-year ceremonies will be held from Monday 7 December to Thursday 17 December 2026 at the Star Brisbane Event Centre (subject to change).

Further details about the ceremony schedule will be available in mid-September 2026.

All graduation ceremonies will be live streamed for the benefit of family members or friends who are unable to attend the ceremony.

View the live stream

This stream can be viewed from Windows and Mac OS X computers, Apple iOS and Android mobile devices. Streaming video can be data-intensive - be aware of your mobile plan's 3G/4G data limits.

No permanent recording will be kept by or used for any other purpose by the University.
