Overview
Everyone in business, government and non-for-profit organisations works with other people, and organisational behaviour provides the knowledge and tools to interact with others effectively. No matter what career path you choose, you'll find that organisational behaviour concepts play an important part in performing your job and working more effectively within organisations. In this unit we will examine how individual differences impact upon what people think, feel, and do in the workplace, and how this understanding of people can help us build more fulfilling and successful workplaces. By taking an interdisciplinary and interprofessional perspective, drawing on the fields of management, HR, psychology, behavioural economics and sociology, we focus on getting the best out of people at work, including ourselves, by promoting the sustainable and ethical integration of the business needs and the individual's needs.

Content
The content of this unit integrates key concepts and ideas relevant to a foundational understanding of organisational behaviour and theory. The unit is designed around three modules: 1) Organisational effectiveness; 2). Managing others; and 3). Employee engagement and well-being.

Learning Approaches
The teaching and learning strategies applied in this unit are intended to maximise your involvement and engagement with the concepts that are being presented and to provide opportunities for you to develop thinking and practical skills in a supportive environment. The unit incorporates a range of lectures, tutorials, and online learning resources to facilitate your learning and accommodate various learning styles. Tutorials provide a dynamic learning environment to promote the application of theory through experiential exercises, case analysis, group and small group discussions, presentations and other activities, and provide guidance to completing assessment tasks set for the unit. Online resources are designed for self-directed learning with respect to key readings, case reviews, and revision activities.

Students will receive feedback in various forms throughout the semester which may include:

- Direct: to individual students, either in written form, from online quiz feedback, or in consultation

Assessment
Overview
This unit requires written assessment items to be uploaded via a text authentication tool that assists students to develop the academic skills required to correctly use and cite reference material as well as to check citations and determine possible instances of plagiarism. Using a text authentication tool is a part of the formal submission of all assignments for this unit. Your Unit Coordinator will provide detailed information on how the software will be used for individual assignments. The use of the tool is for educative purposes and is also used for assisting markers in the detection of plagiarism.

You will write an argumentative essay that takes a clear position on the issues raised and is supported by an analysis and evaluation of academic theory and empirical research.

This is an assignment for the purposes of an extension.
Assessment: Take Home Exam
A final Take Home Exam will assess your understanding of the theories and research relating to the topics covered over the semester, and your ability to apply these theories to understand workplace issues. This exam will consist of two parts:
- Case analysis; and
- Ethical dilemma.
The exam will be released on Canvas at the end of Week 12 and will be due in Week 13.

Overview
Everyone in business, government and non-for-profit organisations works with other people, and organisational behaviour provides the knowledge and tools to interact with others effectively. No matter what career path you choose, you'll find that organisational behaviour concepts play an important part in performing your job and working more effectively within organisations. In this unit we will examine how individual differences impact upon what people think, feel, and do in the workplace, and how this understanding of people can help us build more fulfilling and successful workplaces. By taking an interdisciplinary and interprofessional perspective, drawing on the fields of management, HR, psychology, behavioural economics and sociology, we focus on getting the best out of people at work, including ourselves, by promoting the sustainable and ethical integration of the business needs and the individual's needs.

The content of this unit integrates key concepts and ideas relevant to a foundational understanding of organisational behaviour and theory. The unit is designed around three modules: 1) Organisational effectiveness; 2). Managing others; and 3). Employee engagement and well-being.

Learning Approaches
The teaching and learning strategies applied in this unit are intended to maximise your involvement and engagement with the concepts that are being presented and to provide opportunities for you to develop thinking and practical skills in a supportive environment. The unit incorporates a range of lectures, tutorials, and online learning resources to facilitate your learning and accommodate various learning styles. Tutorials provide a dynamic learning environment to promote the application of theory through experiential exercises, case analysis, group and small group discussions, presentations and other activities, and provide guidance to completing assessment tasks set for the unit. Online resources are designed for self-directed learning with respect to key readings, case reviews, and revision activities.

Assessment
Overview
This unit requires written assessment items to be uploaded via a text authentication tool that assists students to develop the academic skills required to correctly use and cite reference material as well as to check citations and determine possible instances of plagiarism. Using a text authentication tool is a part of the formal submission of all assignments for this unit. Your Unit Coordinator will provide detailed information on how the software will be used for individual assignments. The use of the tool is for educative purposes and is also used for assisting markers in the detection of plagiarism.

Assessment: Take Home Exam
A final Take Home Exam will assess your understanding of the theories and research relating to the topics covered over the semester, and your ability to apply these theories to understand workplace issues. This exam will consist of two parts:
- Case analysis; and
- Ethical dilemma.
The exam will be released on Canvas at the end of Week 12 and will be due in Week 13.

This unit requires written assessment items to be uploaded via a text authentication tool that assists students to develop the academic skills required to correctly use and cite reference material as well as to check citations and determine possible instances of plagiarism. Using a text authentication tool is a part of the formal submission of all assignments for this unit. Your Unit Coordinator will provide detailed information on how the software will be used for individual assignments. The use of the tool is for educative purposes and is also used for assisting markers in the detection of plagiarism.

Overview
Everyone in business, government and non-for-profit organisations works with other people, and organisational behaviour provides the knowledge and tools to interact with others effectively. No matter what career path you choose, you'll find that organisational behaviour concepts play an important part in performing your job and working more effectively within organisations. In this unit we will examine how individual differences impact upon what people think, feel, and do in the workplace, and how this understanding of people can help us build more fulfilling and successful workplaces. By taking an interdisciplinary and interprofessional perspective, drawing on the fields of management, HR, psychology, behavioural economics and sociology, we focus on getting the best out of people at work, including ourselves, by promoting the sustainable and ethical integration of the business needs and the individual's needs.
