Overview
This unit is the capstone unit for the Management Major – providing students with a platform to apply the full breadth of knowledge, tools and skills learned across the Major. As a mastery level unit, this unit focuses on the analysis of existing organisational operations and dynamic capabilities to identify opportunities for rapid business growth. Students will develop a business plan to capitalise on identified growth opportunities via a mix of intrapreneurship, technology-based solutions, and domain model transformation. In developing solutions that attend to the complex and strategic tensions facing business growth, students will demonstrate their ability to think beyond immediate task requirements and add value to organisational decision making.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:

Learning Approaches
This unit utilises a student-centred learning process in which the passions and interests of the students guide the nature of their interaction which the chosen theoretical frameworks and tasks. The aim is to support the process of self-directed learning in which student passion and energy is directed to exploring the application of theory to real life exploration of opportunities and evaluation.
As such, this unit employs contemporary, entrepreneurship-specific learning methodologies to support authentic, real and deep learning. The desired outcome of the unit is the development of confident students capable of self-negotiated entrepreneurial action. Students will be provided with a series of learning activities that provide a platform for students to be assessed as individuals as they develop and articulate an effective business plan that harnesses the dynamic capabilities of an organisation.

Students will receive feedback in various forms throughout the semester which may include:
- Informal: worked examples, such as verbal feedback in class, personal consultation
- Formal: in writing, such as checklists (e.g. criteria sheets), written commentary

The assessment regime for this capstone unit provides a logical workflow from opportunity identification to scoping an initial business plan, and finally to a fully developed business plan. Each task builds on the last to support student learning and provide ongoing feedback on the development of their intrapreneurial idea.

Assessment: Opportunity Analysis
The aim of this assessment activity is to identify and argue the relevance of a viable opportunity for business growth for a case organisation. To do this, you will analyse a case organisation’s operations and dynamic capabilities to identify opportunities, and present your findings for potential business growth.

This assignment is eligible for the 48-hour late submission period and assignment extensions.
Assessment: One-Page Business Plan
You are required to produce a one-page business plan for your proposed intrapreneurial initiative. The plan will outline the value proposition of the initiative, the problem you are solving, a summary of the tactical environment, financial considerations, key milestones, dynamic capabilities, and required resources. The aim of this task is to provide ongoing feedback for the development of your extended business plan due at the end of semester.
Your one-page business plan should, at a minimum, include details for the aims, funding model, milestones, and dynamic capabilities that enable success.

Assessment: Extended Business Plan
Feedback from the one-page business plan presented in Assessment 2 should be incorporated and expanded on to create a robust and persuasive intrapreneurial business plan that identifies a range of contextual, strategic, financial, technological and ethical issues that should be considered for the implementation of your plan. Key focus should be given to the milestones, risks, stakeholder needs and dynamic capabilities that are central to the success of your plan, and clearly articulate the value (socially, technically and financially) that your solution for growth provides the case organisation.

Overview
This unit is the capstone unit for the Management Major – providing students with a platform to apply the full breadth of knowledge, tools and skills learned across the Major. As a mastery level unit, this unit focuses on the analysis of existing organisational operations and dynamic capabilities to identify opportunities for rapid business growth. Students will develop a business plan to capitalise on identified growth opportunities via a mix of intrapreneurship, technology-based solutions, and domain model transformation. In developing solutions that attend to the complex and strategic tensions facing business growth, students will demonstrate their ability to think beyond immediate task requirements and add value to organisational decision making.

This unit utilises a student-centred learning process in which the passions and interests of the students guide the nature of their interaction which the chosen theoretical frameworks and tasks. The aim is to support the process of self-directed learning in which student passion and energy is directed to exploring the application of theory to real life exploration of opportunities and evaluation.
As such, this unit employs contemporary, entrepreneurship-specific learning methodologies to support authentic, real and deep learning. The desired outcome of the unit is the development of confident students capable of self-negotiated entrepreneurial action. Students will be provided with a series of learning activities that provide a platform for students to be assessed as individuals as they develop and articulate an effective business plan that harnesses the dynamic capabilities of an organisation.
