Therefore, as a HR manager, you are required to have competencies in designing strategic and evidence-based recruitment and selection processes. This unit equips you with the skills to develop and evaluate a fit for purpose recruitment and selection package.

Learning Approaches
This unit will be delivered in the lecture/tutorial model. Lectures aim to be interactive, with the use of group activities and discussions. The lecture provides time and space for students to relate to their own experiences, and ideally, share their thoughts and feelings with the rest of the class. The tutorial activities are designed to achieve the following two goals: to enhance learning on the content of the lecture and to provide support and guidance on assessments. The tutorials also serve to provide opportunities for interactions between students, creating a sense of team-based learning, where students provide informal and instant peer feedback to each other.

Students will receive feedback in various forms throughout the semester, which may include:
- Informal: worked examples, such as verbal feedback in class, personal consultation
- Formal: in writing, such as checklists (e.g. criteria sheets), written commentary
- Direct: to individual students, either in written form or in consultation
- Indirect: to whole class

Overview
This unit requires written assessment items to be uploaded via a text authentication tool that assists students to develop the academic skills required to correctly use and cite reference material as well as to check citations and determine possible instances of plagiarism. Using a text authentication tool is a part of the formal submission of all assignments for this unit. Your Unit Coordinator will provide detailed information on how the software will be used for individual assignments. The use of the tool is for educative purposes and is also used for assisting markers in the detection of plagiarism.
Students may be required to attend campus or an assessment centre for the purposes of assessment, regardless of the attendance mode for the unit

Overview
You will complete two assessment items which are designed to assist you in building your skills in developing and evaluating a fit for purpose recruitment and selection package. The first assessment sees you to design a recruitment process and associated job advertisement for a specific role in a real-world organisation. The second assessment has you then develop a subsequent selection process with a flow chart, scoring matrix and complete interview guide for the role.
You will receive feedback on your learning as you progress toward the development of knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes; and demonstrate your learning in order to achieve a final grade.

Learning Approaches
This unit will be delivered in the lecture/tutorial model. Lectures aim to be interactive, with the use of group activities and discussions. The lecture provides time and space for students to relate to their own experiences, and ideally, share their thoughts and feelings with the rest of the class. The tutorial activities are designed to achieve the following two goals: to enhance learning on the content of the lecture and to provide support and guidance on assessments. The tutorials also serve to provide opportunities for interactions between students, creating a sense of team-based learning, where students provide informal and instant peer feedback to each other.
Feedback on Learning and Assessment
Students will receive feedback in various forms throughout the semester, which may include:
- Informal: worked examples, such as verbal feedback in class, personal consultation
- Formal: in writing, such as checklists (e.g. criteria sheets), written commentary
- Direct: to individual students, either in written form or in consultation
- Indirect: to whole class
Assessment
Overview
You will complete two assessment items which are designed to assist you in building your skills in developing and evaluating a fit for purpose recruitment and selection package. The first assessment sees you to design a recruitment process and associated job advertisement for a specific role in a real-world organisation. The second assessment has you then develop a subsequent selection process with a flow chart, scoring matrix and complete interview guide for the role.
You will receive feedback on your learning as you progress toward the development of knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes; and demonstrate your learning in order to achieve a final grade.
Students may be required to attend campus or an assessment centre for the purposes of assessment, regardless of the attendance mode for the unit.
