Overview
Successful business leaders are able to identify, harness and further develop the capabilities of their team. This unit is designed to build upon the earlier unit GSN497 Personal Leadership and Change and will allow you to reflect on real leadership practice. The unit is completed in two phases (training / fundraising and participating in the 55km Oxfam Trailwalker event. It is a clear expectation that you will commit to both phases of the unit.
By combining the experiential and emergent nature of a psychologically and physically demanding outdoor activity with the theory of adaptive challenge, response and engagement, this unit seeks for further develop individual leadership capability and skills to successfully mobilise people through periods of disequilibrium in complex, dynamic and adaptively challenging environments.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:
- Create an executive level action plan that integrates and multi-disciplinary theory and defines and scopes timeframes and group goals. HO 2.1, HO 2.2
- Use advanced technology, technical knowledge and oral presentation skills to design and deliver highly persuasive executive level presentations. KS 1.2, HO 2.2, PC 3.2.
- Produce a reflective report applying advanced multi-disciplinary theory and frameworks and reflecting on previous leadership experiences to determine your capacity in the context of your leadership practice in complex environments. HO 2.2, PC 3.1 and SL 4.1.

This unit is a project-based unit and uses a blended learning approach, which will involve you working in a small group to apply MBA theory and Strategy to complete the 2017 Oxfam Trailwalker.
There is an expectation that the Associate will discuss important issues with the unit coordinator and their peers.
Feedback on Learning and Assessment
Associates will receive a variety of formative feedback throughout this unit.
Informally, feedback will be given verbally in class, through class discussions and during the debriefing of learning activities.
Direct feedback will be available to those Associates who request a private or group consultation session with the lecturer.
Formal feedback will be received on both formative and summative assessment tasks through a Criterion Reference Assessment sheet, which will also include written feedback on the assessment task. The Criterion Reference Assessment Sheet will be available in the Canvas site at the commencement of the unit. Associates will receive feedback on their formative assessment task prior to their summative assessment task being submitted.

Overview
Successful business leaders are able to identify, harness and further develop the capabilities of their team. This unit is designed to build upon the earlier unit GSN497 Personal Leadership and Change and will allow you to reflect on real leadership practice. The unit is completed in two phases (training / fundraising and participating in the 55km Oxfam Trailwalker event. It is a clear expectation that you will commit to both phases of the unit.
By combining the experiential and emergent nature of a psychologically and physically demanding outdoor activity with the theory of adaptive challenge, response and engagement, this unit seeks for further develop individual leadership capability and skills to successfully mobilise people through periods of disequilibrium in complex, dynamic and adaptively challenging environments.

On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:
