Students with a completed recognised bachelor degree in health, business or law will receive advanced standing for up to 4 elective units based on their bachelor degree. This will reduce course duration in the MHM to 1.5 years FTE.
Because of the reduced course duration, to be able to undertake a specialisation you will need to undertake the project as part of your specialisation or cross-specialisation. Your Project will need to be in the area of the specialisation that you select.
If you wish to undertake a Dissertation, you will not have room in your program of study for a specialisation.
Students with a bachelor degree in health, business or law who articulate from PU63 Graduate Diploma in Health Management to PU84 will receive credit for all 8 units completed in PU63, as well as advanced standing for 4 elective units based on their bachelor degree. This means that there may not be room to undertake a specialisation in PU84. It will depend on the elective units completed in PU63.
Students with a bachelor degree in health, business or law who articulate from HL38 Graduate Certificate in Health Science to PU84 with the Emergency and Disaster Management, Quality and Patient Safety, Health Services Innovation or Health Policy and Planning Major will receive credit for all 4 units completed in HL38, as well as advanced standing for 3 elective units based on their Bachelor degree. This will ensure that students have room in their PU84 program to complete the 6 core units, as required by RACMA.

- Cognate students will receive advanced standing for 4 elective units based on their Bachelor degree. This will reduce course duration in the MHM to 1.5 years FTE.
- Because of the reduced course duration, to be able to undertake a specialisation you will need to undertake the project as part of your specialisation. Your Project will therefore need to be in the area of the specialisation that you select. Alternatively, you may choose to do your Project as part of a cross-specialisation.
- If you wish to undertake a Dissertation, you will not have room in your program of study for a specialisation.
- Cognate PU63 students articulating to PU84 may not be able to undertake a specialisation in PU84. It will depend on the elective units completed in PU63. Most students may have to undertake a cross-specialisation in PU84.
- Cognate HL38 students articulating to PU84 with the Emergency and Disaster Management, Quality and Patient Safety, Health Services Innovation or Health Policy and Planning Major will receive credit for all 4 units completed in HL38, and will be eligible for an additional 3 elective units of advanced standing based on their Bachelor degree. It is not possible to grant 4 units advanced standing due to RACMA requirements to complete the 6 core units in PU84. So these cognate students would do the following in PU84: 6 core units, 1 research methods unit, Project. Students articulating from HL38 will not have room for a dissertation unless they agree not to have all units credited from HL38.
- Part-time students only take 2 of the 4 units recommended each semester (total 24 credit points).
