Graduates are eligible for membership in the Australian Mathematical Society (AMS), and ANZIAM.
Pathways to further study
The QUT Bachelor of Mathematics is located at Level 7 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Eligible graduates may continue their studies in these disciplines with an additional honours year in MS10 Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours).

Course Structures
To meet the course requirements of the Bachelor of Mathematics, you must complete a total of 288 credit points.
For students commencing from 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core units - 96 credit points
- A Major – 96 credit points
- QUT You - 24 credit points
- Complementary studies - 72 credit points, made up of:
- a second major (72 credit points) (not available to all course version from 2026), or
- a minor (48 credit points) and option units (24 credit points).
For students who commenced the course prior to 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core units - 96 credit points
- A Major – 96 credit points
- Complementary studies - 96 credit points, made up of:
- a second major (96 credit points), or
- two minors (48 credit points each).
Note: Students who haven't completed Specialist Mathematics (Maths C) in high school must select MXB100 in first semester.
For Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities, SCB300 Professional Practice unit is available for selection. Save an elective to ensure study plan scope (SCB300 is available for selection in the complementary studies - unit options; and in the core unit option space (for student who commenced the course prior to 2024)).
