Important Information
Languages are delivered through an Australian-first alliance between QUT, the University of Queensland (UQ) and Griffith University (GU).
Depending on your course, you may be able to include language studies in your degree as a second major (six units), minor (four units), or option units (electives). To determine if you can incorporate language studies in your degree, contact QUT Languages (qut.languages@qut.edu.au).
Available Language Options:
• French (UQ)
• German (UQ)
• Indonesian (UQ)
• Italian (GU)
• Japanese (UQ and GU)
• Korean (UQ)
• Mandarin (QUT)
• Russian (UQ)
• Spanish (UQ and GU)
Mandarin is offered at QUT’s Gardens Point campus. To undertake other languages you will study at either Griffith University or The University of Queensland as a cross-institutional student.
To satisfy requirements of a second major or minor, the same language must be studied and undertaken at the same university.
Students wishing to study a language as a 6 unit major, should enrol in the first language unit in their first semester.
For further information regarding languages, refer to https://www.qut.edu.au/study/languages

There are a number of changes to units and study areas which may affect your enrolment. Study plans for affected students have been updated.
