To meet the course requirements of the Bachelor of Communication (Entertainment Industries), you must complete a total of 288 credit points, made up of:
- entertainment industries major (144 credit points)
- four core units (48 credit points)
- complementary studies: a second major (96 credit points), two minors (48 credit points each), or one minor (48 credit points) and 48 credit points chosen from unit options (electives).

- Bachelor of Design (Honours)/Bachelor of Design students will not be permitted to commence a second major or minor until they have completed a minimum of 72cps.
- You must complete 96 credit points (normally eight 12 credit point subjects) from the specified units to achieve a second major.
- Any unit(s) that appear in these second majors and are also mandatory elsewhere in your course can not contribute towards the completion of these second majors. Any unit(s) that appear in multiple second majors can only contribute towards the completion of one of these second majors.

Languages are delivered through an Australian-first alliance between QUT, the University of Queensland (UQ) and Griffith University (GU). | |||
Depending on your course, you may be able to include language studies in your degree as a second major (six units), minor (four units), or option units (electives). To determine if you can incorporate language studies in your degree, contact QUT Languages (qut.languages@qut.edu.au). | |||

Mandarin is offered at QUT’s Gardens Point campus. To undertake other languages you will study at either Griffith University or The University of Queensland as a cross-institutional student. | |||
To satisfy requirements of a second major or minor, the same language must be studied and undertaken at the same university. | |||
Students wishing to study a language as a 6 unit major, should enrol in the first language unit in their first semester. | |||
