Business Analysis
The business analysis major provides you with the necessary understanding of the role of IT in business, and the technical skills and techniques required to apply IT effectively in solving business problems. In addition, through an effective blend of theoretical foundations, practical skills, and authentic cases, you will be equipped with the skills to document requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and arrive at the most effective solution, which aligns with organizational goals.

Computer Science
The Computer Science major is designed as a generalist major, allowing students the flexibility to choose specialist units from a variety of complementary areas including networking, cyber security, software development and data science.

Cyber Security and Networks
The Cyber Security and Networks major provides you with the knowledge and skills appropriate for an information technology professional. You will acquire knowledge and develop both technical and non-technical skills to effectively participate in problem solving, analysis and management required for securing interconnected information systems. This will enable you to analyse, design, implement and manage secure and reliable networked information systems, detecting and responding to incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.

Pathways to further study

The QUT Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is located at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Students who are enrolled in this course may be eligible to exit their course with a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology (IN18)

Early exit

Students who are enrolled in this course may be eligible to exit their course with a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology (IN18) after successful completion of an approved 48 credit points of units.
