The Software Technologies Major is professionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
Pathways to further study
The QUT Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments is located at Level 7 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Eligible graduates may be able to continue their studies in the (IN10) Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) or (IF80) Master of Philosophy course at QUT. Course Structures
To meet the course requirements of the Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments, you must complete a total of 288 credit points.
For students commencing from 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core units - 108 credit points
- A Major – 72 credit points
- QUT You - 24 credit points
- Complementary studies - 84 credit points, made up of:
- a minor (48 credit points), plus
- 36 credit points of electives.
For students who commenced the course prior to 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core units - 72 credit points
- A Major – 120 credit points
- Complementary studies - 96 credit points, made up of:
- two minors (48 credit points each), or
- one minor (48 credit points) and elective units (48 credit points).
For Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities, SCB300 Professional Practice unit is available for selection. Save an elective to ensure study plan scope (SCB300 is available for selection in the complementary studies - unit options; and in the core unit option space (for student who commenced the course prior to 2024)).
