Overview
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Master of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, you will be a professional engineer able to design and problem solve for complex challenges that bring together materials, processes, systems and technologies to meet the needs of stakeholders and take account of the social, cultural and organisational contexts in which they must operate.
A vertical degree means you will graduate with a bachelor degree and master degree within five years, fast-tracking your ability to lead and contribute to complex robotics and AI projects, create new technology and respond rapidly to new local and global challenges.
Study areas
Your degree begins with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at QUT. You will choose from four majors:
· Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Computer and Software Systems)
· Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical and Aerospace)
· Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical)
· Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechatronics)
In your fifth year, you will complete the Master of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, allowing you to graduate with two degrees in five years.
Work integrated learning
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is part of the curriculum and is a core component for all engineering students.
WIL allows you to graduate with a portfolio of professional skills that provides evidence of your professional competencies. As part of the course requirements, you need to undertake 60 days of approved work experience in an engineering environment under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. Please start planning your WIL in your second year of studies. After achieving 192 credit points in your single degree, you are eligible for an engineering related placement. Professional recognition
This course has professional accreditation from Engineers Australia (EA). EA is a signatory to the Washington Accord, which permits graduates to work in various countries across the world. This course is recognised internationally in the engineering profession, giving QUT graduates more career opportunities overseas. Pathways to further study
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF): This vertical degree includes an AQF Level 8 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and an AQF Level 9 Master of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Graduates may be eligible for discipline-relevant doctoral-level programs.

To complete this integrated degree, you must complete a total of 480 credit points comprising 384 credit points from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and 96 credit points from the Master of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
