Pathways to further study
The QUT Bachelor of Data Science is located at Level 7 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Eligible graduates may continue their studies in these disciplines with an additional honours year in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) or (IF80) Master of Philosophy course at QUT.
Study costs
Domestic students may need to pay the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).

Course Structures
To meet the course requirements of the Bachelor of Data Science, you must complete a total of 288 credit points.
For students commencing from 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core discipline units - 180 credit points
- QUT You - 24 credit points
- Complementary studies - 84 credit points, made up of:
- one minor (48 credit points), plus
- 36 credit points of option units.
For students who commenced the course prior to 2024, the degree is arranged as follows:
- Core discipline units - 192 credit points
- Complementary studies - 96 credit points, made up of:
- two minors (48 credit points each)
For Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities, SCB300 Professional Practice unit is available for selection. Save an elective to ensure study plan scope (SCB300 is available for selection in the complementary studies - unit options).
