Course information
The Bachelor of Business degree provides flexibility for you to make choices based on your own needs and career aspirations. The four distinct components within the degree give you many combinations of majors and specialisations.
From 2025, commencing students in the Bachelor of Business must complete 288cp (credit points) comprising of:
- The Business Core (six compuslory units weighted at 72cp)
- Primary major (eight core units weighted at 96cp)
- QUT You (select four 6cp units from a suite of options with a total weighting of 24cp)
- Complimentary studies (total weighting of 96cp) which can be:
- a second Business major
- individual elective units
- two 48cp minors (Business School or University wide offerings)
- one 48cp minor (Business School or University wide offerings) and four elective units (48cp)

Study areas
All study areas (also referred to as majors) within the Business course are available at the Gardens Point campus and online. You will need to select your primary major (study area A) and follow the course structure for that major when enrolling in units. Some majors commence in your first semester of enrolment.
